This honey bad­ger at San Diego Zoo likes the pro­vided enrich­ment. But it could well be that its enthu­si­asm was due to the approach­ing lunch. As you can see he loves rab­bit, all of it. (Don’t for­get to pay atten­tion to the com­ments made by the fam­ily watch­ing the honey bad­ger enjoy­ing its meal.)Although its name sug­gests oth­er­wise, the honey bad­ger does not closely resem­ble other bad­ger species. Instead, it bears more anatom­i­cal sim­i­lar­i­ties to weasels. The honey bad­ger, or ratel, is pri­mar­ily a car­niv­o­rous species and has few nat­ural preda­tors because of its thick skin and fero­cious defen­sive abilities.
