When hav­ing some­thing to drink or eat on the ter­race of the café at the Mount Bruce wildlife cen­tre they warn you about the inquis­i­tive Kakas (Nestor merid­ion­alis) that fly around freely in the area. They even put Kaka repel­lent on the table, that vis­i­tors may use to pro­tect them­selves from those cheeky birds. Well, they’re right! Even when you are warned they sneak upon you and try to steal your food. Let’s put it like this – those birds keep you busy!(By the way, the repel­lent is just plain water in a hand sprayer)
