The Kodiak bears of Ros­tock Zoo are world famous. Since 1956, when they first came to Ros­tock, 85 have been born and raised here. Off­spring of Ros­tock Kodiak bears can be found in many zoos world­wide. Nowa­days, they have two spec­i­mens which alter­nate in the out­door exhibit because the male bear is a bit too impetu­ous for the elderly female. Although the lat­ter, born in Ros­tock, returned from Tallin Zoo, to keep the male com­pany. The video shows some feed­ing enrich­ment (which includes some train­ing exer­cise). As the ani­mal is a bit slow lately, this spe­cific food con­tains med­ica­tion and some addi­tional nutri­ents accord­ing the zookeeper.
