This week I found this marvellous infographic on the great web of information called The Internet. The infographic lists the top five misconceptions about evolution, and explains (with diagrams!) why they're wrong. It delivers a nice package of knowledge you can use to provide those who misunderstand evolution with the current state of scientific knowledge about evolution. Or as Caleb Trujillo, who compiled the list and designed the infographic – version 1.0, puts it: “Here is an infographic to help inform citizens. From my experience most people who misunderstand evolution are actually misinformed about what science is and how it operates.”
Trujillo encourages to reblog his evolution post, which is appreciated and must not be ignored of course .
You can find a zoomable version here.
To easily acquire more knowledge about evolution, which can be used to enlighten misguided friends about the available evidence for the evolution of man, I would recommend a subscription to the YouTube series 'How Did We Get Here?' made by evolutionary biologist Darren Curnoe from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Besides concise and precise it is funny as well.
And if you really are dedicated to enhance your knowledge because you want to use scientific facts in discussions with ignorant creationists when trying Why Evolution Is True' by Jerry A. Coyne.them that the existence of a Creator might not be true after all, this book is a must-read – '
Spread the word!
Many credits to Caleb Trujillo, Darren Curnoe, Jerry Coyne and all others dedicated to build on the work of Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace, the two British explorer-naturalists and contemporaries who independent of each other developed a theory – evolution – that explained nature as they had seen in South America and Indonesia respectively.
